"In the heart of Atlanta lies an historic bungalow nestled among the city’s modern skyscrapers—South City Kitchen Midtown—a beloved restaurant that has enjoyed over two decades of serving Southern classics made to perfection for the traditionalist and contemporary interpretations for the adventurer." - SCK website

South City Kitchen is located in Atlanta's bustling midtown and is a quiet, quaint retreat for weekend brunch and daily lunch and dinner.  Headed up by Chef Chip Ulbrich, South City Kitchen is deemed as one of the frontrunners of elevating traditional Southern cuisine.  SCK also prides itself on supporting local farms, recycling, and composting their wastes making them almost 95% waste free.

The Fried Green Tomatoes and the Fried Chicken are considered house specialties and always on the menu.  The Fried Green Tomatoes are stuffed with goat cheese and served with a red pepper coulis.  The Buttermilk Fried Chicken is fresh chicken sourced from Springer Mountain Farms and is served with garlic collard greens, smashed red bliss potatoes along with honey thyme jus.

The ICCA board dined here during a planning session and tried numerous other items.  Some of the stand-outs were...

the Smoked Pork Belly with collard green kimchi, toasted benne seed, and orange Tupelo honey

the Pork Crepinettes stuffed with house garlic sausage with a side of Brussel slaw with caraway vinaigrette

Shrimp & Red Mule Grits done with poblano peppers, house made tasso ham, and a smoked tomato gravy

Seared Georgia Trout that was cold smoked and served with roasted hakurei turnips, local apple, and fresh horseradish
