Each year retiring board members are recognized and new board members are elected to fill their positions. Officer elections also take place at the ICCA Annual Board Meeting which takes place the day before the launch of the Annual ICCA Summit. This year’s event took place in San Diego on June 20th at the Historic US Grant Hotel. This year we set a new record with five retiring and five new board members changing positions. We also elected four new officer positions. Most of these changes took place because the officers reached their maximum limit of four years on the ICCA board of directors. First of all we want to recognize our new board members who began their first two-year term at the close of the 12th Annual ICCA Summit during the Annual Dinner at the San Diego Zoo. The new ICCA Board of Directors include:
Amy Smith, Director Culinary Innovation, Buffalo Wild Wings
Robert Pesch, VP of Culinary and R & D, Cheddar’s Casual Cafe
Curt Seidl, Vice President, Culinary, Morrison Healthcare Food Services
Brian Campbell, Director of Culinary R & D, On The Border Mexican Grill & Cantina
Kevin Bechtel, SR. VP Purchasing & Menu Development, Shari’s Management Corporation
Next we would like to recognize our new ICCA Officers. The officers all play a significant role in the association hierarchy. The president oversees the overall operation and works closely with the headquarters. The Vice President is the chair of the education committee and works closely with the CEO/Executive Director on the Summit Agenda. The Secretary is the chair of the communications committee and works with the headquarters on matters relating to the Web site and all other forms of communication while the treasurer chairs the finance committee. Here are the new 2014 – 2015 officers for the ICCA:
President: Shona Jonson, Sr. Manager Menu Development, Chick-fil-A
Vice President: Matt Harding, Corporate Chef, Bravo Cucina Italiana
Secretary: Renate DeGeorge, Chef, Director of Culinary, HMS Host
Treasurer: Curt Seidl, Vice President, Culinary, Morrison Healthcare Food Services
Last, but certainly not least, we want to say a special thank you to the retiring board members and officers who have helped steer the ICCA out of our first decade and into the next. These great members were also recognized at the Annual ICCA Dinner at the San Diego Zoo.
