We are very excited to announce the ICCA Culinary Immersion LA where we will explore the most creative and authentic ethnic neighborhoods and host round-table discussions with the star chefs who are forging new trends that will be on chain menus in the future. The event is free to the first 15 members who rsvp for the event. All you need to do is pay your airfare and transportation to the host hotel The Beverly Hilton. All travel, tastings, lunches and dinners are paid for by the association.
Chefs we will learn from during the event include 2016 James Beard Foundation Best Chefs West Jon Shook and Vinny Dotolo plus Suzanne Goin, Roy Choi, and new sensations Chris Oh and Charles Olalia to name a few. We will also visit two iconic breakfast restaurants, talk to an award winning sommelier and visit Grand Central Market – one of the most innovative destinations for food culture.
Food Network Star Simon Majumdar will host a tour of Koreatown and surrounding ethnic areas where new stars will share their successful twist on flavors that are gaining rave reviews in the LA media. A highlight of the trip will be an innovation presentation by The Cheesecake Factory’s Chefs Bob Okura and Donald Moore on their new minority purchase of the Flower Child and North Italia from Sam Fox and his Fox Restaurant Concepts. They will also cover their innovation process for their Cheesecake Factory, Grand Lux Cafe, and Rock Sugar concepts while you enjoy a tour and tasting at both Flower Child and Rock Sugar Pan Asian Kitchen.
Here is the complete agenda ICCA Culinary Immersion LA Final Agenda. The event begins with an optional dinner on the 22nd with the educational activities happening on the 23rd and 24th. The event ends with an optional dinner on Friday the 24th so you can head home or chose to stay in LA on your own for the “Oscars” weekend. We will cover member’s room nights from Wednesday through Saturday if you chose to stay for the dinner on Friday night .
