After 15 years, the ICCA is finally heading to The Last Frontier. Join us in Alaska for our final event of 2018, August 5th – 9th, during a once in a lifetime opportunity to learn more about this delicate ecosystem and the seafood that comes from it. Normally our Immersions are two full days, but this wasn’t enough so we’ve extended the event to four days and it is free for ICCA members! All you need to pay is your airfare to Anchorage and back – all in-Alaska transportation, hotel rooms and meals are paid for during the full itinerary. Here is the agenda: ICCA Immersion- Alaska Agenda.
The group will meet in Anchorage on Sunday, August 5th before heading to Seward via the Alaska Coastal Railroad. Here we’ll have the opportunity to walk the docks with the salmon fisherman and tour The Alaska Culinary Academy. Before the ferry to Cordova, take a behind the scenes tour of The SeaLife Center to learn more about their research into Alaska’s marine ecosystem.
Nestled between the Prince William Sound and the Copper River Delta, Cordova is home to one of the largest salmon runs in Alaska. With the help of the Alaska Seafood Marketing Institute, expect tours of local processing plants like Trident, Ocean Beauty and Icicle. The ICCA Immersion will come to an end when the group flies back to Anchorage on Thursday, August 9th.
Don’t forget that once you get to the first hotel in Anchorage, all transportation, tastings, activities and meals during the event are covered by the association. To RSVP, please email rsvp@iccachefs.com to reserve your spot.
